The past week I've been playing around with some new colours, I seem to be stuck in a bit of a colour rut lately featuring many pink and blues within my work and I have decided it is time to explore some new colour themes.
To aid me in my colour exploration I have found a fantastic website called
Design Seeds, its a wonderful website featuring an array of colour palettes, which can be searched by colour value or theme.
I already had an idea of what I was aiming for a summer feel reminiscent of the sea and nature and finally found the perfect colour palette for my new designs Urchin Tones.
One of my favourite past polymer clay canes has been my seashell cane, featured in some of my past designs and seen here in my seashell cane bracelet.
So I set about making my new polymer clay cane, colour mixing and combining the urchin tone palette, here is my finished seashell cane.

And here are my finished designs using my new polymer clay cane, I decided to keep in tone with the theme and created some new urchin beads to complete my designs.

I love the new colour theme and have some bracelets also planned for this new palette, its quite a step away from the pink and blues I had been recently creating and I've decided to continue my exploration of new colours and to try some new themes over the summer.
