My Etsy shop has been doing very well since the beginning of July which has prompted me to get my clay out and make a couple of new pieces for the summer.
One of my favourite peices I made last year was my urchin themed necklaces, but this time I've decided to go a little bolder with the colour scheme.

So here's my seashell cane using an assortment of the colours mixed and combined a create a cane that will provide the main theme for my beads.

Unfortunately I didn't quite mix up enough of the colours for the palette and so I will only be able to create a few pieces, but here's a selection of the beads made with plans to create a chunky urchin necklace, beaded thong necklace and bracelet. As mentioned due the enjoying the weather the necklaces have yet to be put together.

As I also recently started a collection of polymer clay rings and studs I decided to create some seashell themes for a summer collection.

I predict not much claying this week will be done, its quite diffucult claying in this heat as the clay can become quite soft and sticky if over worked, so I guess I'll have a little more time to tan my pasty legs.

I love all your beads, it must take ages to make each one especially the very detailed ones. Thanks for the link to design seeds too - although I only make cards, the collection of colours will be a great help.
ReplyDeleteThe colour palette looks great. I think I'll have a look at that. Nothing wrong with pasty legs by the way!
ReplyDeleteI agree - nothing whatsoever wrong with pasty legs. I too love your beads. The bolder colours are not as bold as I thought they might be, more 'stronger'. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished pieces that you make with them.
ReplyDeleteYour beads are lovely. The colours work really well together. From one fair skinned gal to another - there's nothing wrong with pasty legs.... xx
ReplyDeleteAll your designs are really pretty. I love the sea urchin beads. The colours look perfect. My legs stay pasty no matter how much sun they get, get them out there tanned or not I say.

Loving your blog & your beautiful Beads, I myself use Polymer Clay for making Flowers and know what you mean about it going sticky and hard to work with at times in this hot weather. I too have pasty legs, what a good reason to get out and sunbathe ;-)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the lovely work and blogs
