Pink floral charm bracelet with a touch of navy - Commissions at Lottie Of London

I was sent a request from a client recently who had fallen in love with my pink floral charm bracelet

 Pink Floral Rose Charm Bracelet

She mentioned it was perfect for an upcoming wedding she was due to attend but needed some navy beads added to the bracelet to co-ordinate with her wedding outfit.

I crafted the navy beads using polymer clay and interspersed them throughout the charm bracelet.

Here’s the final piece with a touch of navy blue.

Red Long Statement Necklace Commission | Polymer Clay at Lottie Of London

Blog post taken from Lottie Of London Jewellery Blog 06/10/2017

I love to colour mix at Lottie Of London Jewellery and my recent commission request was no exception.

I was asked to create my popular long statement necklace with red hues to coordinate with a clients coat.

When mixing primary colours such as green and blue you can shift the colour to lighter or darker resulting in a pale blue or navy blue for example. Working with red is a little different although adding black will darken a red into burgundy, adding white will quickly start to turn the colour pink and yellow will shift the red into a coral hue before becoming orange.

So it was decided to stick with the obvious bold red and shift into burgundy.

So after some colour mixing and testing I created a selection of seven red hues for my client to make her final selection, as seen below.

Once the final colours had been decided I set about creating the necklace and matching drop earrings.

Here's one of my latest commissions I was asked to make a Pea Pod Necklace as a gift for lovely young lady, I've never actually made a pea pod before and have seen many styles in silver and with pearl beads so I was happy to take on the challenge.

I'm really pleased with the results and am thinking of adding this necklace to my collection, what do you think could this be a new addition to my collection?

Polymer Clay Ribbon Necklace Comission

I missed last weeks Handmade Monday as I was busy working on a commission.

It was a replica of my turquoise and orange ribbon necklace made last year, I really like the colours on this necklace as they are so vibrant and the kaleidoscope cane used is one of my favourites and reminds me that I really need to make more of these canes if different styles, a blog post for the future.

Cupcake Charm Bracelet Commissions in Polymer Clay

I do love commissions, I recently got a commission for my Cupcakes and Tea Charm Bracelet previously made this summer.  My customer was searching for a cupcake bracelet as a gift and found a feature of my bracelet on the blog All Things Cupcake, the perfect place for cupcake lovers.

Here is the finished bracelet

As you can see the charm bracelet also features a little penguin handmade also from polymer clay, as requested by my customer it adds a beautiful personal touch to his gift.

I think maybe a charm bracelet with more of these little penguins will be quite cute with a black and white theme.  Also making the cupcakes for this bracelet reminded me that I made quite a few different styles over the summer.

Happy New Year

I've been busy busy busy and still am, I have lots of work to do so a quick post of some jewellery i was working on in the lead up to Xmas

Fruit charm bracelet polymer clay commissions
This fruit charm bracelet was a gift for my mother in law.  The fruit strawberries, peaches, pears, oranges and lemons have all been made from polymer clay and combined onto this charm bracelet with glass beads.

Cherry brooch - commissions

This cherry brooch was also a gift for my mother in law, made from AB faceted glass beads and rocailles.

Chunky oblate necklace - personal piece millefiori polymer clayI made this large purple beaded thong necklace for myself to go with a simple black wrap dress i had.  I wanted something that was going to stand out.  All the beads have been made using polymer clay using millefiori techniques and caning.  I took the opportunity to try out some caning techniques that where new to me, Shape shifting cane and Kaleidoscope canes and am very please with the finished result.

Silver Mokame gane pendant - personal piece polymer clayI made this mokume gane pendant also for myself to go with a silver top I was planning to wear for a Xmas get together with friends.  It has been made from polymer clay using the mokume gane technique, this was my first attempt at this technique.

So my plans for the new year, well I have got lots of new polymer clay goodies over Xmas so I will be trying

  • Kilmet Cane I got a new extruder and can't wait to start on this cane
  • Perfect Pearls, never tried these powders

  • More foiling with alcohol inks

  • Mica with Kato clay, I've tried it with Fimo and just don't feel it's visible enough

  • To keep practicing on Image Transfer on clay, I really am not all that good at this technique
So given I have the time with work and all the new techniques I am wanting to learn, I should have lots of stuff to post.
